About Bancorp I

Robert G. Cotitta, President of Bancorp I, has  45 years of experience in the Banking Industry in Ownership, Senior Management, and Consulting Positions and has had multiple personal experiences with the Bank M&A process.

Cotitta's business relationships with Bancorp I’s Buyer and Seller client base, along with a multitude of Bank Executives and Professionals in the Bank M&A field, and his understanding of Community Bank Ownership, Senior Management, and Operations provides a unique ability to identify Banks with an interest in Buying or Selling and facilitate a Bank M&A transaction.

Many years of experience in the Banking Industry have made Cotitta extremely aware of ‘Confidentiality’ issues in a discussion of this nature. The most important skill set that he brings to a Bank M&A process are practical Banking Experience and Negotiating skills.

At Bancorp I we can assist you with every aspect of your M&A transaction.

Whether you are a Banker planning to:

  • expand your market share
  • enlarge your geographic footprint
  • implement your exit strategy

Or you are an individual or an investor group planning to:

  • purchase an existing bank
  • apply for a new bank charter

Bancorp I will develop the basic financial data for buyer clients and provide introductory information to formulate a Letter of Intent. If there are no options available that fit your acquisition criteria, a ‘focused search’ effort will be initiated to identify acquisition options for your consideration.

Our Portfolio

Bancorp I is primarily focused on identifying Buyers and Sellers for Community Bank Transactions in the less than $250 million total assets size range, which represents approximately 60% (3,000) of all U.S. bank charters. An abbreviated outline of Buyers and Sellers is included in those respective tabs, with a short description to maintain Confidentiality.

The Buyers listed herein have all signed a Bancorp I Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Agreement and a buyer representation agreement. Individual Buyers will provide a Business Resume, a Proposed Post Acquisition Business Plan and a Proof of Funds Letter concurrent with the transmittal of a Purchase Offer.  Bancorp I represents additional Buyers with interests in both National and State Charters, with Total Assets between $50–$250 million in multiple states.

Sellers are not limited to Bancorp I Representation Engagements. Some of these sellers are represented by other professionals, and some of them are not represented by anyone. Most importantly, all of them are ‘available for sale.’ Additional acquisition options are available in 5 other states, both national and state charters, with total assets ranging from $50–$500 Million.
